Right down to the taco seasoning this soup has everything you love about taco night!
This soup comes together quickly an depending on your preference it can be similar to a chili or brothy like a soup. I took the chili approach and loved it!
From this day forward, one packet of taco seasoning will be a requirement in our pantry. It’s that good!
Taco Soup
1 lb lean hamburger
1 onion chopped
2 14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes
1 6 oz can tomato sauce
1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained
1 package taco seasoning
1 1/2 to 2 cups water – add more if a thinner soup is desired
optional toppings:
sour cream
cheddar cheese
avocado
cilantro
tortilla chips
Brown the hamburger and onion in a large soup pot. Once cooked through add the remaining ingredients and cook over medium until heated through. It’ll take approximately 15 minutes for flavors to meld. (Add extra water if you want it thinner, or if you’ll leave it simmering for a while.)
Serve hot with your selection of toppings. And a bowl of chips, if that’s your style. I did!
As the onions and hamburger are browning prep the remaining ingredients.
Throw it all in and get it back on the heat.
Garnish it how you like and dinner’s served!
Easy, right?!
