I know we’re only a few weeks into this little adventure but I thought it might be time to let you all know what I’m doing and a teensy update on how it is all coming along. A lot of people have asked where this all began so I think my first post was a sneaky one that was easily missed. Where it all began…
Along the way I’ve learned:
- Photographing every step of a recipe takes a lot more time than regular old cooking.
- Every recipe is a gamble. I’ve had some serious blindsides, some really good and a few really bad. Stay tuned for our next Graveyard burial next week. Ewww! Click here for the Graveyard scoop!
- I now have to adopt the practice of making a shopping list. Crossing generations, these are not all of my standard kitchen staples.
- Oddly enough, Great-Grandma Mary is more in line with my pantry style than Grandma Joyce.
- Reading handwritten notes is similar to reading someone’s diary…minus the juicy, gossipy parts.
- I love reading the comments and support from all of you who have tried these recipes out, shared my posts and are watching this unfold. You’re the best!
- My kids are amazing tasters to have on hand. They’ve helped devour some pretty random meals so far.
- My husband is beyond patient and incredibly helpful.
I love cooking for you and want to help make things as simple as can be so let me know if you have any suggestions at all!
Happy Friday!
